“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.  My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go & prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3

Daniel James “DJ” Noyes, age 29, was born on March 30, 1989, 5th Core in Frankfurt, Germany. He resided in Littleton, CO until he was 8 years old, then moving to Wallace, KS & attending Triplains from second grade through Junior High School.  He was involved in 4-H showing bucket calves, known for loving his pets & getting in trouble with his best friend Sam Smith with 4-wheelers! Growing up he spent two summers with his dad & stepmom in Italy & very much continued to love to travel. DJ then attended St. Peter’s Lutheran High School in Indianapolis, IN & graduated in 2008. During this time, he resided in Franklin, IN with his beloved Uncle Mark & Aunt Juli Manning. There he met his great friend Chris Lantz. He worked for several years at Bob Evans Restaurant in Franklin; also attending a locksmith school there. Moving back to Kansas in 2012, where he attended NWKTC for automotive mechanics for a year. DJ married his childhood friend Lisa Edwards Noyes, daughter of Cameron & Rebecca Edwards of Russell Springs, KS, on March 1, 2014 in Sharon Springs, KS where they resided. Together they enjoyed  watching movies, both quoting movie phrases, eating out & loving animals. Lisa loved for DJ to read to her & that DJ enjoyed helping others; DJ enjoyed when she cooked for him & her companionship. He worked at Walmart in Goodland, KS for more than five years until he became ill. He complained sometimes as anyone about their job, but he truly loved working at Walmart & was great with people  & customer service.  DJ enjoyed working with his Dad in Colorado Springs or fixing things with him. He loved holidays, mostly Christmas & being with his family & came out often to the family’s ranch. There he’d shoot targets with his gun collection & loved playing games. His brother Skylar & sister Brianna had a very special bond. He was gifted with being an organizer & helper to others. At Mayo, he was endearingly called, “The Big Kid!” We all talk of his warm smile & heart & of course giving people a hard time! DJ loved building complex Lego sets, anything to do with Star Wars, Odyssey and Xbox 360. DJ will be greatly, greatly missed!

DJ went to his eternal home Friday morning, September 28, 2018 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. DJ became ill in mid-April & was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. DJ fought long & hard with the best possible attitude. One promise that DJ & his family clung to was from Roman 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.” DJ’s faith was strong & he took great comfort knowing his Lord Jesus & if Jesus came to take him home, DJ said that already two great events occurred because of his illness. First, his relationship with Jesus grew & faith deepened & second, during his illness, he & his dad spent such quality time together & they both were very thankful for this irreplaceable time.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial money. DJ was diagnosed as a baby with Shwachman Diamond Syndrome. The family established a memorial fund through a local health organization to reflect where DJ’s heart was because of this childhood illness that eventually caused his death. DJ had precious memories of when he was hospitalized many times as a child and would receive a toy of comfort.  Please direct contributions to “DJ’s Toy Fund for Sick Children,” Toys will be distributed to local area hospitals over the next several years. Memorial may be sent to the families involved.

DJ’s is survived by his parents Daniel & Lois Noyes of CO Springs, CO; Mark & Jill Hanson of Wallace, KS; Grandparents Tom & Dorothy Noyes of Lake Village, AR; Evelyn Manning of Denver, CO; Carl & Gloria Hanson of Wallace; Uncle Thomas (Mary) Noyes of Greenville, MS; Aunt Lore (Dan) Swingle of Grove, OK; Uncle Mark (Judy) Noyes of White House, TN; Uncle Steve (Kathy) Manning of CO City, CO; Aunt Juli (Mark) Manning-Ploss of Franklin, IN; Aunt Jenece (Glenn) Mitchell of Garden City, KS; Aunt Carla Jo Brakhage of Huntsville, AL; Siblings: Mary (Boosie) Simmons of PA; Wilma (Michael) Carr of CO Springs, CO; Skylar Hanson of Colby, KS; Brianna Hanson of Wallace, KS; many cousins, one niece & three nephews.
